History

In CAPER Productions we have more than 30 year of experience in the business of recording, editing, producing and post-prodicing videos,  for social and comercial events as for enterprise and television broadcast, delivering always the highest quality in image and audio, because since the beginning CAPER Productiones has worked with cameras and systems that enable us to offer the best audio and video quality.

CAPER Productions began activities in Mexico City in the 70's, in the social video business, using Super 8mm film for weddings, christenings and any type of social event. This film as we can all remember was soundless, with cartridges that spanned  three minutes and you had to use a special projector to watch them, which made it very uncomfortable  since not everybody had one of those projectors. Years later a sound track was added, but still it was very pricey and difficult to handle. Still most of our costumers from those days keep all the films that long ago we made for them and still watch them, by converting them or in their original format.

Later on we changed to the Beta System with 200 lines of horizontal resolution, the choice home system, known all around the world. Who didn't had a Beta VCR at home? The advantage of this system was that it offered a longer time for recording and was a lot more versatile than the old Super 8 film. After that we adopted the VHS system with 250 lines of horizontal resolution, this system was a best seller all around the US and Europe. The VHS system gave us a more professional environmente for the developing of our videos.

Years later we starte using th Hi-8 cameras with 350 lineas of horizontal resolution, and then cam the super VHS system with 450 lines; this was the system with the highest video quality of its time in the semi professional market. The inconvinience was the editing was completely lineal, this means that to edit you had to record one cassette an then another to add titles and effects, thus resulting in a loss of resolution lines that lowered the quality of the colors and clarity of the image since the digital media of those days were still experimental for home use and only the big broadcasting companies were able to use them. When these technologies became available to the general public the true revolution in home video began since the quality of the products obtain by digitar recording is far superior to the previous one.

Today, established in Cancun since 1996 we posess the top notch technology that enables digital quality like HDV with 1080 horizontal resolution lines, professional cameras with 3 CCDs and CMOS, accepted by NTSC (National Television System Comitee). These cameras comply with the qualty standards for TV broadcasting and transmiting, adding to thise a comple non-linear (or digital) edition made by computer, this means that the video quality even with edition, special effects and titling loses not a single resolution line offering in this way the highest video quality available today for professional video recording.

We can deliver your unforgettable event in a DVD or Blu Ray, depending on your requests, making permanent this precious memory with the maximum audio and video quality available today.
